Around this time last year, Reclaiming Hearts was offered the opportunity to sent a team member to Atlanta to become certified to facilitate a financial literacy curriculum for the financially vulnerable called Faith & Finance.

At the time, we weren’t sure exactly what value it might have to our mission — except as maybe a way to encounter the girls our Love Nashville outreach teams meet outside of the clubs.

So we walked through this open door the Lord offered us with open hands, ready and willing to do with this what He would have us do…

Well, fast forward a year, and our discipleship team coordinator, Edie, recently completed an 8-week study with a diverse group of women and her discipleship team — it only made sense that the next thing we would offer these precious women would be the Faith & Finance course!

So on September 10, we gathered with 5 dedicated participants and 4 “allies” (mentors) to begin a 12-week journey together of learning God’s plan for our money.

Everyone (participants AND allies) come each week eager to learn, willing to be vulnerable, and ready to accept & tackle whatever their next task might be.

We laugh. We cry. We encourage. We pray.

We give thanks to our Father in heaven, our God of the details, who has so sweetly orchestrated so many small things and paths together to lead us all to this sweet season of learning and growing as a community of women who want to honor Him with every piece of our lives.

Oh, the best is surely yet to come…

1. Pray. Every Sunday evening these women gather together. Praying for their safe travel, for continued commitment of their time to the course and to the Lord, and for transformed lives by the gospel would be a tremendous blessing.

1. Give. $50 covers the cost for one participant to have all her materials and to have access to refreshments for the 12-weeks we are together. We don’t charge the women to be a part of this ministry, but what a blessing you could be to a woman by being responsible for covering the cost of her participation.
