Events in our world are changing so rapidly, sometimes it causes us to believe that things are out of control. However, it is important to remember in moments like these how in control God truly is. This study offers us insight into what we are seeing unfold, why it matters to us, and how God is working in it.
We will discuss discerning the times we are living in, spiritual warfare, the nation of Israel and its role in scripture as well as Jesus, the Lamb that was slain and the Lion that will return.
Week One — Who Is God, Really? Before we look at the world, we look at God. Job 38 through 42. His voice over the whirlwind. His questions to Job that have no answer but worship. You cannot discern the times with a small God. This week gives you a big one. We also examine our two most common default responses when chaos hits, the drive toward stability and the reach for happiness, and why both collapse without an anchor in Him.
Week Two — A Love Story Set in a World at War This is the frame for everything. We live, as John Eldredge writes, in a love story set in a world at war. This week takes us into Genesis 3, the fall of man, the origin and nature of Satan, and the role of angels throughout Scripture. Never forget: Satan is not God’s equal. His opponent is not God. His opponent is man, because he is after our worship. That changes how you see everything.
Week Three — Every Battle at Its Root Is a Spiritual Battle You may be in a battle right now you haven’t fully named yet. This week names it. Ephesians 6:12. The unseen dimension behind the visible struggle. We look at why Jesus is delaying His return, and it will undo you in the best way. We also take a long, careful walk through Mark 5, the demoniac, the pigs, the people who asked Jesus to leave because He disrupted their revenue stream. This story is so layered. So powerful. And so personal.
Week Four — Mind. Heart. Mouth. Halfway through. This week we get personal. According to Dean Sherman, those are the three areas Satan most loves to attack. Which one does he hit hardest in you? We walk through the full Armor of God in Ephesians 6, Daniel 10, and the shelter of Psalm 91. The week closes with a prayer of declaration that has the weight of Scripture behind every line.
Week Five — Israel and the Purposes of God You cannot understand God’s prophetic story without understanding Israel. Jonathan Cahn puts it plainly: the Devil exists to thwart the purposes of God, and Israel exists to bring them forth. This week traces God’s covenant from Genesis all the way through Romans 11. And somewhere in the middle, you’ll meet a man named Hosea and his wife Gomer, and you will see yourself and your God in that story in ways you never expected.
Week Seven — The Lamb Slain Before the Foundation of the World He was chosen before creation. Not as a backup plan. As the plan. This week is entirely about Jesus, who He was hidden inside every book of the Old Testament, who John saw standing in Revelation 5, and what it means that Satan is overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies. Your story matters in this. More than you know.
Week Eight — The Return, the Reign, and the Question Every prophetic announcement about Jesus’ first coming was fulfilled literally. Every single one. That is the ground we stand on as we study His second coming. We look at the Millennial Reign, the Great White Throne Judgment, and what Luke 16 reveals about both heaven and hell. And then this study leaves you with the question it was always building toward: how does God want you to redeem the time?
You are asking questions you’re not sure you’re allowed to ask. You want more than anxiety about the headlines. You want a biblical framework to stand in. You lead a group of women who are scared and searching and need something with roots. You’ve avoided end-times study because it always left you more confused, not more grounded. You are ready to open your Bible and find that God has not been surprised by a single thing you are watching unfold.
Not one thing. Not once.
Do I need to know a lot about prophecy or end times to do this study? No. This study meets you where you are. It is deep, but it is not cold. Denise teaches the way she writes, with warmth, humor, and honesty. You will leave with more understanding and less fear. That is the whole point.
Can I use this with a group? Yes. Each week’s Deeper Dive is built for both personal reflection and group conversation. The questions draw people out. The Scripture anchors the discussion.
What Bible translations are used? The study draws from multiple translations throughout, including the NIV, the Message, and the Amplified. Denise encourages reading the same passage in more than one translation, because different translations offer different understanding.
Will this study scare me? It will sober you. There is a difference. The goal is not fear. It is the kind of clarity that only comes from knowing your God is bigger than your headlines. That is what this study is after.
